The BBC has given the green light to a third series of Doctor Who. There's an article all about it here, BUT it does contain mild spoilers for the second series, and (at the very bottom) for this Saturday's climactic episode.

If you want to know the basics from the article about signing details for the next two series without getting any spoilers, they are thus:
  • David Tennant has been signed for the whole of series 2 and 3
  • Billie Piper will serve through the whole of series 2
  • Russell T. Davies will write six episodes for series 2
  • There will definitely be Christmas Specials for 2005 and 2006

I don't know why they need to put spoilers in that article. Grrr.

I'm really disappointed that I've missed so much of this series. The three I've seen have been ace. Luckily they're out on DVD now/soon, so I'll be able to catch up. I have a sneaking suspicion I know who Bad Wolf is, but I have a horrible feeling that it's too obvious. We shall see!

Thanks for the spoiler warning. I'm almost certain to be spoiled before I see it - I'm travelling on Saturday night and the earliest that I'll probably get a copy to watch will probably be Monday. Perhaps I should just stay off LJ altogether until then!

You might think me committing sacriledge, but I have never watched Doctor Who before now, and even at present I keep on missing the episodes... Thus far I have only seen the one with the Daleks and the creepy, little child.

But it is quite a shame that Christopher Eccleston has opted not to carry on!

I just think it's great that people who've never been interested before are now watching some Who. It's become a real smash hit, actually, whch I wouldn't have believed if you'd told me a couple of years ago. And I agree about Christopher Eccleston, but I'm reasonably convinced David Tennant will do a good job, too.

I'm not reading it. :) I'll just jump up-and-down on the spot until Saturday night.

Cool! I'm really quite enjoying the fun. I'm not going to read the article because I don't want Saturday to be spoiled.

I am so peeved I missed the early episodes of the season. Darn my forgetfulness!
